Entry Village
Client: Nashville Zoo at Grassmere
Project Location: Nashville, TN
Completion: 2016
The Entry Village project at the Nashville Zoo at Grassmere sought to provide a facelift and enhance the visitor experience to a zoo that had seen a dramatic increase in visitors in the previous few years. Leadership of the Nashville Zoo desired for the main entrance buildings (including a ticketing building, membership building, and gift shop and stroller rental building) to have the feel of an African Village as visitors entered the zoo. To achieve this effect, curving thatch roofs and exposed wooden pole structural elements were incorporated into each building. This project was done by Cornette-Violetta Architects, with both Greg and Pat being project architect and project manager respectively on the project.
